MN3006 LED DRIVER FOR MOBILE DEVICES
MNI identified LED drivers as a fast growing domain and invested time and effort to develop proprietary techniques to get significant system power savings. For the mobile device market, MNI has designed the MN3006, a 6-channel ultra-efficient fractional LED Driver that potentially increases talk time by upto 21% in mobile devices (depending upon LED forward voltages, current requirements and total battery drain). Mobile devices are moving from a voice centric model (1990s) towards video/display centric one (eg. Video, TV, MP4, GPS) with two major implications:
Display size and resolution is becoming higher
Display is kept on for longer periods of time

In the new feature-rich mobile devices 50% of the power is consumed by LED/LCD display system up from only 10% in older generation of the phones.

A competitive analysis with respect to other well known analog companies (such as Maxim, National, TI) has been done and the power savings of MNI's IP by upto 21% has been established.

LICENCING THE MN3006 LED DRIVER
MNI offers to license it's MN3006 to customers that want to provide state-of-the-art mobile device backlighting solutions and get a sustainable advantage in the marketplace over several years. Using a conservative estimate of 2 products and 1 cell phone platform win per product, we estimate a revenue target of $7.27 Million/year over 2 to 3 years.
